Base & Slim Aseptic Packaging

Base & Slim Aseptic Packaging is a type of packaging that is designed to maintain the freshness and quality of food and beverages.

Size and Shape

Base aseptic packages are typically larger and have a broader base compared to slim packages. They are commonly used for products like dairy liquids (milk, yogurt drinks) and juices. Slim aseptic packages are long and slender, with a small base area. They are commonly used for products like dairy beverages (milk, flavored milk, iced coffee) and liquid food products.

Sterilization

The base packages undergo a sterilization process, often through ultra-high temperature (UHT) treatment, to eliminate any bacteria or microorganisms, ensuring the product’s long shelf life. Similar to base packages, slim packages also undergo sterilization through UHT treatment to ensure product safety and a long shelf life.

Material

Slim aseptic packages are typically made of a laminate structure comprising paperboard, aluminum, and plastic layers. This combination provides good barrier properties while maintaining a lightweight and portable design. Base aseptic packages are usually made of a multilayer structure, consisting of materials like paperboard, aluminum, and polyethylene. This combination provides excellent barrier properties against oxygen, light, and moisture.

Packaging Machinery

The filling and sealing equipment for base aseptic packaging is designed to handle larger volumes and higher speeds compared to slim packages. It requires robust machinery capable of maintaining sterile conditions during the filling process. Slim aseptic packaging machines are designed for high-speed production and efficient filling of smaller volumes. The equipment ensures the sterile conditions required for aseptic processing while maintaining the package’s shape and integrity.
